A joint experimental and theoretical determination of the structure of discharge products in Na–SO2 batteries

Na–SO2 batteries are promising power sources for energy storage systems. However, it is unclear what happens on the cathode surface at the molecular level during the discharge process. Here, we provide the working mechanism of Na–SO2 batteries through a combination of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and first-principles NMR calculations.

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP) is an international journal co-owned by 19 physical chemistry and physics societies from around the world. This journal publishes original, cutting-edge research in physical chemistry, chemical physics and biophysical chemistry.
